Why use the Smart car?

The styling and image of the car is still "sky high" even though it was first launched in the UK in 1998. Homesbury were keen to have vehicles that were environmently friendly and offered many benefits for the daily routine of an Estate Agent.

The FF9900 colour is unique to Homesbury and compliments the colour of company's office and is reflected on our web site too.

Since our opening in September 2006 it never fails to surprise us as to how many buyers and sellers are already aware of our brand having seen the two Smart's in and around Shrewsbury. Have you seen them?


The Smart Car began with Nicolas Hayek, the man who invented Swatch watches. He wanted to make a small car that would be fuel efficient, environmentally responsible and easy to park.

When you see the Smart Car, the first thing that you notice is its size. The City Coupe is only 8 feet, 2.5 inches long, less than 5 feet wide and about 5 feet tall. That means that instead of parallel parking in line with other cars, a Smart Car can back right up to the curb. Two or three Smart Cars can park that way in a single curbside parking space.
